This past weekend (December 21-22) was the official beginning of winter, so I decided to pick up a few products from my local Walgreen’s. While I have been out shopping for others this holiday season, I thought I should do a little drugstore haul for myself. I mean it is better to give than to receive, however, you cannot forget yourself during this time of year.
Hey guys! Here’s a quick little tag from one of my favorite YouTuber’s and bloggers, the one and only Nikkie of Nikkie Tutorials! I love watching her channel and reading her blog. She’s actually one of the inspirations that I needed to start my own blog. So, as a before 2014 is over tag, here’s the This or That Tag: Beauty Edition!!! I wish you all a very Happy New Year’s and I can’t wait for all of the things that 2015 has in store for us!
Remember when I wrote that post announcing the collaboration between MAC Cosmetics and Nasty Gal Clothing? Well I decided that I knew for sure that I absolutely had to buy at least one of the lipsticks named Stunner, Runner, and Gunner. I ended up buying Runner, the burgundy color. I received it via the standard UPS shipping that took less than a week to get to my house. This was my first ever MAC lipstick purchase, so this is a pretty big deal for me!
A red lip is something that will never go out of style. Red lips have and I can guarantee will always be a classic. Even though it can be very intimidating to someone who doesn’t wear very bright or bold makeup, it really is a matter of practice and patience. Once you get this under your belt you’ll be wearing it all year round to special events, nights out or anywhere else you can think of.
When I initially started growing my makeup collection, I started out with buying a lot of brushes. In the beginning I didn’t really need a brush holder, because I didn’t have enough brushes to put in one, but after my collection got a little bigger, the need for one was more apparent. The first thing in my mind to do was to go on YouTube and see what all of the other girls were doing, but I quickly realized that I couldn’t use the same things that they were using. My space was really limited and I didn’t have any money at the time. So necessity became the mother of invention, well, in this case innovation. I decided to do some research to figure out how to clean out my empty candles so I could use them for pretty storage.
When I make the decision to go and buy a high end makeup product, the last thing that I want to do is not like it. After my second or third high end purchase fail, I decided to take a different route. In Ulta near the registers they have many different travel and trial sizes products. The ones that they have are really decently sized that you can get instead of blindly trying the full sized and not liking it. The most recent of my purchases from Ulta in a trial and travel size was the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and the Smashbox Try It Out Box.
During one of my biweekly YouTube binges, I spotted a video by Casey Holmes (I love her) and she was testing out the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for the first time. The whole objective of this video was to see if it was a good tool to use, as well as if it was a dupe for the Beauty Blender. I don’t have a Beauty Blender, because I honestly couldn’t see myself spending $20 on a sponge that I can only keep for three months maximum. (But that doesn’t mean I won’t be getting one!) However, the Real a Techniques products and I have had a beautiful relationship ever since I started using their makeup brushes this year. So, as per usual I had to go out and try it.
